Common stains and how to remove them
Mix a paste of water and talcum powder and apply to fresh spots. Leave to dry and brush off. If you don’t have talcum powder use cornstarch or cornmeal.
Remove marks from painted walls by scrubbing with toothpaste or use a cloth soaked in ammonia. Wipe with clean water and dry.
Put a brown paper bag over spilled wax on carpet or upholstery and run a hot iron over the brown paper to lift off the wax.
Mix dish detergent and water and clean off as quickly as possible.

Vacuum the frames and sills before cleaning your windows. Don’t wash your windows on a sunny day as the sunlight causes streaks. Choose a cloudy but not rainy day. Use cold clear water only. Add 2-3 tablespoons of vinegar per galloon of water if windows are very dirty.. Using horizontal strokes on the inside and vertical on the outside so you know which side the streaks are on (if you get any).
